Ethiopian Capital Market Authority is established by Capital Market Proclamation No 1248/2021 as an autonomous Federal Regulatory Authority. One of the major objectives of ECMA is to ensure the existence of a capital market environment in which securities can be issued and traded in an orderly, fair, and efficient manner.

ECMA, as a regulatory authority, grants licenses to any person to operate as a security exchange, derivative exchange, security depository and clearing company, capital market service provider, over-the-counter trading facility or any other activity deemed by ECMA as a regulated activity under its jurisdiction.

Position: Senior Regulatory Policy Development Officer II

Qualification and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics from a recognized and accredited institution.
Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in policy formulation, strategic planning, and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E).
Demonstrated experience in drafting, implementing, and reviewing regulatory frameworks, guidelines, and policy instruments—strongly preferred.
Exceptional ability to conduct in-depth analysis, perform quality research, and translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable policies.
Proven capability in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects, working effectively with government institutions, private sector entities, and international organizations.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, with excellent interpersonal skills.
Fluency in Amharic and English is required.
