YaYa PII SC is a Payment Instrument Issuer focusing on providing payment solutions through mobile wallet software systems. YaYa PII SC is established in 2022 and licensed in compliance with Licensing and Authorization of Payment Instrument Issuers Directive No. ONPS/09/2023 issued by National Bank of Ethiopia.
We develop and maintain technological solutions that centers on an iOS and Android smartphone applications to perform the following operations.
Provide cash-in and cash-out, local money transfers including domestic remittances, load to card or bank account, transfer to card or bank account, domestic payments including purchase from physical merchants, bill payments, over-the-counter transactions, and inward international remittance services.
Position: QA Engineer
Qualifications:
- Education:  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field.
- Experience:Â Â 1+ years of experience in software testing/QA (manual and automated), preferably in fintech, banking, or digital payments.
- Certification in QA/software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus.
- Knowledge:Â Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, performance testing, and load testing.
The Quality Assurance Engineer ensures the quality and reliability of YaYa Wallet’s software products through comprehensive manual and automated testing. You will collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and compliance officers to validate financial transaction flows, meet regulatory standards, and enhance customer trust.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for mobile wallet applications, payment systems, and backend services.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.
- Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools; collaborate with developers for timely resolution.
- Validate financial transaction processes, including bank transfers, merchant payments, bill payments, remittances, and scheduled transactions.
- Develop and maintain test automation scripts and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards (e.g., PCI DSS, data privacy).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed quality at all stages of development.
- Maintain test documentation and provide clear reports on testing progress and defect trends.
- Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and automation coverage.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in API testing using tools like Postman for functional and data validation
- Hands-on experience with bug-tracking tools Â
- Familiarity with test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, Playwright) Â
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile/Scrum Â
- Basic knowledge of databases/SQL for transaction and data validation
- Awareness of security testing practices and compliance standardsÂ
