JaRco Consulting is an international consulting company, established in 2007, with offices in the United States and Ethiopia. Since its establishment, JaRco has provided technical support in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), as well as data collection for development and humanitarian programs. We are specializing in a wide range of services—including qualitative and quantitative research, monitoring and evaluation system design, capacity building, and technical assistance—JaRco offers strategic support to international donors, non-governmental organizations, governmental agencies, and partner organizations across various sectors.

Currently, we are seeking qualified and highly motivated fresh graduates for the Data Collector role.

Position: Data Collector

Qualifications:

  • University degree in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Health, Agriculture, Statistics, or any related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 for male candidates and 2.7 for female candidates.
  • Previous experience in data collection, especially in household surveys, will be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in local languages (e.g., Amharic, Oromifa, Tigrigna, etc.) 
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team are required.

Job Overview:  

The role involves collecting accurate data through surveys, interviews, and observations. The primary responsibility is to gather reliable, high-quality data from participants and communities in accordance with study protocols. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in diverse field environments.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Collect accurate and reliable data through various methods, including surveys and interviews, using digital data collection tools such as KOBO, ODK, and others.
  • Gather high-quality data from survey participants and communities, ensuring alignment with study protocols and methodologies.
  • Identify and select eligible participants based on predefined criteria and ensure accurate sampling.
  • Record responses accurately and consistently, ensuring clarity and completeness in the data collected.
  • Maintain attention to detail and professionalism throughout the data collection process.
  • Ensure confidentiality and ethical standards are upheld while collecting and handling data.
  • Ability to travel to remote areas and deliver high-quality work within the required time frame. 
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and accurate data collection.
