Global One Health connects Ohio State to Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Brazil, Thailand, China, India and beyond in a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to improve health, build capacity, and provide learning opportunities for students across the globe.
Ohio State Global One Health, LLC (Ohio State GOH, LLC) is an affiliated entity of The Ohio State University working on a range of Global Health Security related projects targeting rapid response to public health emergencies through building laboratory, surveillance, and one health workforce capacity strengthening through applied education, training, and research throughout Ethiopia.
Ohio State Global One Health works with the Federal Ministry of Health, Ethiopian Public Health Institute, Regional Health Bureaus, Universities and other research institutions.
Position 1: Junior Logistics and Procurement Officer
Required Qualification and work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Management, Procurement Management, Logistics and Supply Chain management, Supply Chain Management or other related fields of studies
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
- Training and/or experience related to procurement of supplies, reagents, consumables, Lab equipment and custom clearance
- Relevant knowledge of procurement regulations and policies and procedures for major donor‐ funded programs
Adjunct skills Required:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities based on use of data
- Computer skills, including Microsoft office
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent facilitation skills, and strong understanding of how to safely and accurately collect feedback from key stakeholders
- Ability to handle multiple tasks; proven self-initiative and problem-solving abilities
Place of Work – Addis Ababa
Position 2: Accountant
Required Qualification and work Experience:
- Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance and related fields of study.
- The ideal candidate will have a background in transaction accounting and administrative activities and at least 2 years of experience focused mainly on financial and accounting work.
Required Soft Skills
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Must be experienced with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and business software platforms used for billing, invoicing, contracting, and financial report development.
- Excellent English language, communications, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Excellent teamwork skills within diverse teams
- Commitment to high-level confidentiality in all business matters.

Position 3: Regional Global Health Security Advisor
Qualification and Experience:
- Master of Public Health in Field Epidemiology, Public Health Epidemiology, General Public Health, Health Services management or related field of study.
- At least six years’ experience in the implementation of Global Health Security of projects with a strong focus on surveillance, emergency preparedness and response, and strengthening the capacity of regional health bureaus
- Proven ability to effectively engage partners, manage and collaborate with a multi-partner consortium, and develop the capacity of local partners.
- Proven ability to network and build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven knowledge in infectious disease, epidemiology, or a related field, with experience in managing large health programs.
- Proven experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of global health programs, particularly those focused on infectious disease control and emergency response.
- Strong technical expertise in Social and Behavioral Change, infection prevention and control, global health security, and emergency preparedness and response.
- Additional certifications in Health Security, One Health, Emergency Management, experience in working in the national and regional preparedness and response capacities
Place of work –Tigray (Mekelle) with frequent travel to Zones and Woredas.
Position 4: Strategic Regional Director (SRD), Global One Health Eastern Africa
Qualification and Experience:
- MD required with additional MPH/ PhD or related advanced degrees
- High preference to candidates with proven expertise and experience in maternal and child health
- Experience and/or credentials in leadership capabilities
- Proven expertise of mobilizing large amount of funding from extramural sources
- Experience in the areas of maternal and child health working in international NGOs academic and global implementation projects.
- 8-12 years of proven expertise and experience at the global level.
