Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC Job Vacancy

Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC (KGM) is a subsidiary of Allied Gold Corp, a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, with mining operations in multiple countries including Ethiopia, Mali, and Côte d’Ivoire. KGM holds a Large-Scale Gold Mining License and three Exploration Licenses for its Ethiopian project.

These licenses are located in western Ethiopia, approximately 750 km from Addis Ababa and about 90 km northwest of Assosa, in the Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State. KGM is currently engaged in both mine development and exploration activities at the site.

Position: Junior Legal Associate

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law (LL. B); additional certifications in mining or environmental law are a plus.

Experience:

  • 0–2 years of legal experience, preferably in corporate or regulatory law.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.

Other Requirements

  • Familiarity with Ethiopian mining laws and regulations.
  • Experience working in or with the extractive industries.
  • High ethical standards and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to remote mining sites when required.

Location/duty station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (with site-level responsibilities in Benishangul-Gumuz region, Kurmuk Worda)
