Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia (HFE) is a pioneering organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of obstetric fistula and related maternal health issues. Founded on compassion and excellence, HFE strives to restore health and dignity to women across Ethiopia through treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation programs. Including our main Fistula Hospital in Addis Ababa, we have 5 regional hospitals, a rehabilitation and reintegration center, and the Hamlin College of Midwives.
Position: Case Worker
Education Requirement; Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
Work Experience: 0 years (2024/25 graduates or 2017 EC graduates)
The Case Worker will serve as a focal person for rehabilitation and reintegration program at Hamlin centers who will be responsible to facilitate and follow up patient reintegration process. The role involves assessing clients’ needs, developing individualized support plans, and ensuring their protection and well-being throughout their presence in the center. The Case Worker acts as a critical link between clients and various internal and external service providers, advocating for client rights and ensuring holistic and survivor-centered care.
Job descriptions
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial need assessment
- follow up client’s status in relation to her reintegration process after discharge
- Screen clients and referrals for vocational training at Desta mender as per the criteria’s specialized services for the livelihood programs.
- Develop and implement individualized case plans tailored to the specific needs, preferences, and circumstances of each client.
- Monitor and document case progress, ensure timely follow-up on referrals and services provided.
- Providing guidance in the process of ensuring clients need to access local recourse
- Serve as patients reintegration focal person at Hamlin centers
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Psychiatrists, Patient Identification Officers, Midwives and external partners like networking and partnership with women’s affairs office and other stakeholders to facilitate the reintegration process
- Support the development and implementation of community outreach and awareness R&R programs
- Maintain data accuracy and confidentiality according to project and organizational data protection policies.
- Provide reports for the Main Hospital Social Worker who coordinates the caseworkers at all centers.
- Identify and report any safeguarding concerns or protection incidents in compliance with organizational policies.
Languages
In addition to English and Amharic Fluency in other local languages in accordance with the preferred working location is mandatory.
Work Location: Mekele, Bahirdar, Yirgalem, Harrar ,Metu Hamlin centers
Salary: As per the scale of the organization
