Ethiopian Human Rights Commission Vacancy
Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is looking for qualified candidates to fill the following position.Â

Position: Associate Human Rights Officer
Qualifications and Experience:
- LLB/LLM in Human Rights Law, International Law.
- Zero years of experience for LLM holders,
- Â 2 years relevant experience for LLB or 6-12 months participation on Young Leaders Program (Internship Program)
- Computer literateÂ
- Knowledge of Amharic and English is required
- Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring on selected institutions to assess whether their policies and procedures are in compliance with international and regional human rights standards that are relevant to economic and social;
- Assist in investigation of cases of human rights violations involving economic and social as needed;
- Support in mainstreaming of economic and social rights as relevant in other EHRC’s activities and programming;
- Support in the researching and compiling of data to support development new guidelines, policies and laws;Â
- Support in drafting various human rights reports, communications, briefing notes, statement or other products;
- Support in following up on recommendations forwarded by EHRC and deliver statistics and trend reports as required;
- Support team members in maintaining contacts with technical staff of various partners focusing on monitoring of economic and social;Â
- Support in mapping of stakeholders and set up referral system to provide support to economic and social who suffered human rights violation and are in need of support;
- Assist in conducting capacity-building activities on relevant human rights and in developing and implementing training programmes;Â
- Support on awareness raising and campaigns on economic and social rights to ensure adherence to national and international protection standards and guidelines;
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
SALARY RANGE: Gross monthly salary of ETB 17,750.00 – ETB 20,567.00 plus ETB 8,640.00 Housing allowance and ETB 3,300.00 Transport allowance, depending on candidates qualification, experience and earning history.
Location: Head Office, Addis Ababa
