CropsAfrica/Ethiopia Calling Young Change maker’s
CorpsAfrica is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization that empowers young African graduates to lead community-driven development in underserved areas while gaining valuable skills and experience. CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia is now recruiting passionate Ethiopian graduates for Group 4. Serve in rural communities, drive meaningful change, and become a changemaker!
CorpsAfrica Volunteers undergo six weeks of Pre-Service Training and then serve for ten months in a community chosen for its perceived need, existence of local partners and essential infrastructure, location, and other criteria. The Volunteer dedicates his/her time to living and working with local people to identify an area of concern for the community, co-create and design solutions to address the concern, implement the solutions with local partners, and monitor and evaluate the results.
Young Ethiopian Volunteers
We are looking for young leaders who:
- Age – 21 or older at the start of service.
- Hold a University Degree/ equivalent professional experience
- Are ready and able, physically and emotionally, to serve One Year in rural Ethiopia
- Are passionate about community service and social impact
- Female youth are highly encouraged to apply
General Expectations of a CorpsAfrica Volunteer
- Commit to working in a highly underserved community in Ethiopia to improve the quality of life of the community
- Recognize that their success is based on building trust and confidence with their host community
- Engage with host community partners in a spirit of cooperation, mutual learning, and respect
- Exercise good judgment and take personal responsibility to protect your health, safety, and overall well-being.
- Recognize and respect the people, cultures, values, and traditions of the community you serve and your fellow Volunteers.
CorpsAfrica Volunteers Receive the Following Before and During Service:
- Expert pre-service and in-service training facilitated by development and management professionals
- A living allowance adequate to support the Volunteer in his/her site
- Health insurance
- Travel funds for official CorpsAfrica business
- An end-of-service readjustment allowance
- Certificate of completion
- After completing service, option to apply to serve a second year in a different country and admission to the CorpsAfrica Alumni Association
- A life-changing experience which will serve you well throughout your personal and professional life
