Cheshire Ethiopia is an independent non-profit making organization who provide orthopedic and social rehabilitation services for children and young people with disabilities in Ethiopia.
The charity was established in 1962 by the grand Children of the late Emperor Haile Selassie and with technical support of Captain Leonard Cheshire. CE is a local independent NGO, staffed by Ethiopians and registered as an Ethiopian Resident Charity, while playing a leading role in physical rehabilitation of person with disability mainly children in Ethiopia.
Position 1: Junior social worker
Qualification
- BA in social work or sociology

Under the general supervision of the Senior Social worker ; the Junior Social Worker is responsible for the counseling clients under supervision of the social worker or senior social worker at the rehabilitation center.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attending clinics in rehabilitation centers, Mobile Outreach and CBR projects
- Assessing and certifying free service and or cost sharing clients
- Assessing and offering advice or counseling clients under supervision of senior or Class two social workers.
- Preparing individual service plan for every child admitted to the center
- Facilitate admissions and discharges and follow-up care
- Report changes in patient condition / treatment to supervising physiotherapist
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team regarding assessment, treatment implementation, outcome and discharge
- Record and maintain the patient information in the clinical file
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and privacy of privileged information
- Demonstrate empathy and compassion for all patients, regardless of health, age, race, ability ,disability or culture
- Involve in awareness, raising training, community, education services.
- Taking picture of every child and writing case histories admitted following the progress attained
- Writing reports on special events held at the center or project or visits made.
- Conduct any related work as requested by his supervisor

Position 2: Junior Physiotherapist
Qualification
- BSC in physiotherapy and 0 years experience
The Junior Physiotherapist is responsible for the administration of physical therapy treatment to patients.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers active and passive manual therapeutic massage, and heat, light, sound, water and electrical modality treatments for admitted children and outpatients
- Administers traction to relieve neck and back pain using intermittent and static treatment equipment
- Instructs, motivates and assists patients to learn and improve functional activities such as daily living activities
- Fits patients for adjusts, and trains patients in use and care for orthopedic braces, prosthesis and supportive devices such as crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.
- Meets with physiotherapy unit supervisor and others to exchange, discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying and coordinating treatment programs
- Gives orientation to new assistant physiotherapists and directs and gives instructions to same
- Performs clerical duties such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, etc.
- Keeps records of both admitted and outpatients
- Performs any other related duties assigned to him/her by the Physiotherapy unit Supervisor or Technical Coordinator.
Salary: Birr 10,536.00
Other benefits: Birr500 transport and 15000 medical expense coverage per annum.

Position 3: Social worker
Qualification
- BA in social work or sociology
Experience
- 2 years experience in social work
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans the daily children counseling session and the Social work activities .
- Works in the multidisciplinary clinic Team evaluating cases and developing prescriptions .
- Identify Psycho-social skills and physical abilities of children to improve their daily living.
- Provide comprehensive therapeutic support through group and individual counseling ,and positive behavioral supports.
- Conducts in-depth client assessments including psychological, social, rehabilitation and environmental conditions; uses assessment results to develop and implement a service plan.
- Prepares correspondence, case records and written reports as required.
- Accessing, identifying and documenting abuse and neglect cases and finding the appropriate services to enhance child welfare.
- Involve in event organizing process and report writing
- Keeps records of service users with confidentiality.
- Furnishes the immediate supervisor with new proposals, ideas and plan for the improvement of the section activities..
- Performs any other duties assigned to him/her by his/her immediate supervisor or MRC manager.
