The Austrian Development Agency (ADA) is the operational unit of the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and is responsible for implementing all bilateral programmes and projects in ADC’s partner countries on behalf of the government of Austria.
Austrian Development Cooperation aims to reduce poverty, conserve natural resources, and promote peace and human security in all interventions. Ethiopia has been a priority country of the Austrian Development Cooperation since 1993, with project interventions aligned with Ethiopia’s national and local development strategies.
Position: Assistant Programme Manager
Education / work experience:
- Bachelor´s degree in relevant fields of study (social sciences, natural sciences, finance and accounting or the like); Master’s degree is an asset but not a prerequisite
- Between two and four years of work experience in local or international organizations including internships.
- Prior experience on project or program management is mandatoryÂ
Skills:
- Self-motivated, proactive and adaptable personality with excellent communication skills and a commitment to learning and expanding his/her knowledge base
- Good MS office skills
- Ability and willingness to travel to rural areas
- Ability to prioritize work efficiently and productively
- Very good command of spoken and written English
- Very good knowledge of spoken and written Amharic, other major national languages
