The company represented Ford Motors Company in Ethiopia since inception and was originally owned by the Swiss Group namely AMROPA Motors was then acquired by the African Lakes, UK in 1973 and the company’s name was changed to AFCOR, Ethiopia PLC in January 1986, and subsequently to African Lakes (Ethiopia) in March 2000.
Position: Sales Representative
(Power & Renewable Energy)
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of sales experience, preferably in the power, energy, or renewable energy sector.
- Strong understanding of solar, wind, and other renewable energy solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Valid Driving License

Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to promote renewable energy products and services.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to existing and prospective customers.
- Talk with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements.
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
- Secure and renew orders and arrange delivery.
- Plan and modify products to meet customer needs.
- Help clients solve problems with installed equipment.
- Recommend improved materials or machinery to customers, showing how changes will lower costs or increase production.
- Plan detailed presentations that show clients your product info, pricing, and benefits.
- Develop products or program suggestions for clients and successfully sell them.
- Manage billing and delivery of solid products.
- Meet with clients at appointments for sales presentations.
- Follow up on solid products to ensure the customer is happy.
- Acquire new customers by winning them over from competitors and discovering new opportunities.
- Participate in the entire sales process – initial discovery, project review, design submission, component installation
- Work with customers to present a technical perspective on the company’s sales offering.
- Collaborate with the Local Operations Teams to obtain contractor quotes in support of sales opportunities.
- Provide alternative solutions as required to meet unique end-user, component or installation criteria.
- Assist with the development of customer presentation tools and coordination of end-user site visits.
- Develop sales and marketing strategies for key vertical market segments.
- Provide company representation in industry forums, conferences, and related events
- Interface with internal departments to ensure accuracy and timeliness of solution delivery to individual end-users.
- Develop and implement product and application training programs for the Sales organization.
- Provide after-sales support and maintain customer satisfaction.
