PurposeBlack is a brand new initiative launched in May 2020 by a group of more than 130 black experts. PurposeBlack, as the name suggests, aims to economically address some of the most pressing issues confronting Black people worldwide.

The first model of this global initiative is being prepared for launch in Ethiopia. We are convinced that the new approach represents an excellent opportunity for Ethiopia and Africa to be at the center of a massive international enterprise that will benefit millions of Africans.

The PurposeBlack Ethiopia initiative can be a multi-billion Birr task so as to consist of the construction and release of a mega agro-processing complex, an e-commerce marketplace, five hypermarkets, ten huge supermarkets, and a network of over a thousand retail and distribution stores throughout Ethiopia.

Position: GRAPHIC DISGINER

Qualifications:

Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
Strong visual design skills, including an understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and composition
Creativity and the ability to generate innovative design concepts
Technical skills in areas like digital illustration, photo editing, and image manipulation
Familiarity with web design principles and responsive design for digital platforms
Attention to detail and the ability to work precisely
Project management and time management skills
Communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members

GRAPHIC DISGINER for the upcoming BEE Channel (Black Economy Excellence) media production, with a Bachelor’s degree and 3+years of experience in graphic design. The ideal candidate should be fluent in English, possess strong writing and communication skills, and have the ability to present reports, conduct interviews, and implement strategies effectively.

Responsibilities

Meet with clients or stakeholders to understand their design needs and objectives
Research design trends, competitors, and target audience to inform the creative process
Conceptualize and develop design solutions that are visually appealing, on-brand, and functionally effective
Create a variety of design assets such as logos, branding materials, advertisements, websites, and product packaging
Present design concepts and prototypes to clients for feedback and approval
Incorporate client feedback and revise designs as needed
Ensure final designs meet technical specifications for print, web, or other mediums
Manage the production and delivery of approved design projects
Stay current on design software, techniques, and industry best practices
Collaborate with other designers, copywriters, developers, and project managers
Maintain an organized project workflow and meet deadlines
