MEKS TRADING PLC is a dynamic and growing company engaged in Industrial Chemical import and trading. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chemical Sales Person and Senior Accountant to join our finance team.

Position 1: Chemical Sales Representative

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BSc Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry,
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in chemical sales or a related industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical products and applications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, target-oriented, and willing to travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and sell the company’s range of chemical products to new and existing customers.
  • Identify new business opportunities and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Prepare and deliver technical and sales presentations to clients.
  • Provide accurate product information, quotations, and follow up on orders.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Collect market intelligence on competitors, prices, and customer preferences.
  • Accept and work any additional tasks that given from immediate supervisor.

Location: Addis Ababa,Ethiopia

Position 2: Senior Accountant

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BA Degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in a senior accounting or finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Ethiopian tax laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • SAP and similar software knowledge is a plus
  • Good knowledge of the Ethiopian Tax regulations both Regional and Federal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for bank reconciliation on daily, weekly and monthly basis and complete within report deadline.
  • Manage general ledger entries and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Handle tax preparation, declarations, and ensure timely submission to authorities.
  • Supervise junior accountants and provide guidance on accounting practices.
  • Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist management in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Liaise with external auditors and banks when required.
  • Perform Balance Sheet reconciliation as and when asked by the Manager.
  • Perform Balance sheet analysis which involves evaluating all balance sheet accounts against sub-ledger or other non-general ledger-based source data.
  • Keep financial document with maximum care.
  • Accept and work any additional tasks that given from immediate supervisor.
  • Closely monitors and ensures accurate and up to date accounts and financial records are maintained based on Company financial policy and procedure and a standardized procedure.
  • Ensures that information on financial status of the Company is readily at hand whenever required.
