Selection Process

Safaricom Ethiopia is committed to a merit-based and objective selection process. All eligible applicants are assessed fairly and consistently based on their qualifications, competencies, and performance throughout the selection stages.

Independent Online Assessment

The initial online screening and assessment process for eligible applicants is conducted independently. Safaricom Ethiopia does not participate in or influence this stage. This ensures impartiality and equal opportunity for all candidates.

Applicant Accountability

Applicants are fully responsible for the accuracy and authenticity of the information they provide during the application process. Any false or misleading information may result in disqualification at any stage; pre or post selection.

Comprehensive Evaluation

Candidates will be evaluated using a structured selection process that includes various assessment tools. Only those who demonstrate strong potential across all Safaricom Ethiopia competencies will progress through the stages.

Competency-Based Selection

Selection is based on demonstrated alignment with Safaricom Ethiopia’s core competencies, values, and potential. This ensures that successful candidates are well-equipped to thrive in the GMT Program.

Final Selection and GMT Enrollment

Safaricom Ethiopia reserves the sole discretion to select the most suitable candidates from the pool of applicants and offer a fixed-term Graduate Management Trainee contract.

The successful Graduates will be placed on two years fixed term employment contract for the period of the training program with Safaricom Ethiopia. At the end of the fixed-term contract, the Graduate Trainee may be placed in a permanent role within Safaricom Ethiopia business units depending on the result of the performance review during the fixed-term contract and the availability of suitable vacancy.
