Global One Health connects Ohio State to Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Brazil, Thailand, China, India and beyond in a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to improve health, build capacity, and provide learning opportunities for students across the globe.

Ohio State Global One Health, LLC (Ohio State GOH, LLC) is an affiliated entity of The Ohio State University working on a range of Global Health Security related projects targeting rapid response to public health emergencies through building laboratory, surveillance, and one health workforce capacity strengthening through applied education, training, and research throughout Ethiopia.

Ohio State Global One Health works with the Federal Ministry of Health, Ethiopian Public Health Institute, Regional Health Bureaus, Universities and other research institutions.

Position 1: AEFI surveillance officer

Required Qualification and Experience

  • Doctor of Medicine or Master’s degree in public health or pharmacy
  • At least Three years of working experience with proven practice in vaccine safety surveillance in a reputable health institution
  • Training and/or CPD certificate in basic and/or advanced Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) surveillance or Pharmacovigilance is an advantage
  • Past exposure and experience in Ethiopian health or regulatory system or in pharmacovigilance field will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in AEFI detection, reporting and investigation
  • Experience of conducting trainings, supervision and mentorship

Position 2: AEFI Surveillance Data officer

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, epidemiology, public health, pharmacy, data science, or a related field (master’s preferred).
  • At least three years of experience in data management or analysis in public health programs.
  • Proficiency in at least one data analysis tool (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS, or Python).
  • Experience working with health surveillance data, preferably AEFI or immunization data.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with international or national immunization program data systems is an asset.

Position 3: Vaccine Safety Social Listening Expert

Minimum Qualifications and experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in social sciences, communication, or related fields
  • 1-3 years of experience in applying social media and monitoring tools for analysis and reporting.
  • Certificates or specialized short courses in digital analytics, media monitoring, or data visualization.
  • Strong ability to interpret large data sets and translate findings into clear, strategic communication insights.
  • Excellent English writing and communication skills and additional local language proficiency is a must.
  • Sound understanding of data ethics, privacy, and responsible digital monitoring practices.
