CALL FOR INTERNSHIP: Tana High-Level Forum 2026 Support
The Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS), Addis Ababa University, is inviting applications from motivated students and recent graduates to join the team as unpaid interns supporting the preparation and implementation of the Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for students and young professionals interested in peace and security, political affairs, international relations and social sciences to gain practical experience by contributing to the organisation of a major high-level international forum.
Eligible Fields of Study
Applications are particularly encouraged from students and recent graduates in:
- Peace and Security Studies
- Social Sciences
- International Relations
- Political Science
- Development Studies
- Governance and Public Administration
- Related fields
Key Areas of Support
Selected interns will work closely with the Tana Forum team and various units within IPSS, providing support in the following areas:
- Supporting event preparation, planning, and coordination;
- Assisting different IPSS units with administrative, research, programme, and operational activities as required;
- Providing administrative and logistical support before and during the Forum;
- Supporting other activities and tasks necessary for the successful preparation and implementation of the Tana High-Level Forum.
Requirements
Applicants should:
- Be currently enrolled in or have recently completed a relevant university programme;
- Demonstrate a strong interest in African peace and security issues;
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Be responsible, organised, and able to work effectively as part of a team;
- Have a good command of English. Knowledge of Amharic or other languages is an advantage;
- Be available to support activities during the preparation period and throughout the Forum;
- Eligibility: This internship opportunity is open only to Ethiopian applicants.
- Be willing to undertake the internship on an unpaid basis.
