Finance Assistant Intern At MERQ

MERQ is currently seeking a highly skilled finance officer who is dedicated, detail-oriented, and proficient in financial management.

Position: Finance Assistant Intern

Skill & Qualification requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Accounting with at least 0 years of relevant experience
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

The Intern is responsible for handling day-to-day financial tasks, ensuring smooth operational processes. They assist with tax compliance, document preparation, and payment processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for petty cash management and all supporting documents
  • Participate in training on tax management and reporting, under the guidance of the Finance Officer, with an intent to make this the Finance Assistants’ key responsibility
  • With direct support from the finance officer, handle tax declarations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Prepare daily payment vouchers and ensure all payments are properly documented.
  • Assist the Finance Officer in maintaining financial records and support other financial tasks as assigned.
  • Responsible for taking bank payment letters and checks to the bank, following the bank process, bringing bank statements, bank advice, and bank invoices to hand over to the Finance Officer.
  • Put PAID stamp and properly file all financial documents – scanned for electronic filing and original hard copies in box files.
  • Support with various project administrative tasks such as printing/copying/scanning of documents, training coordination, collecting proforma and/or invoices
