Digital Equb Financial Technology PLC is an Ethiopian fintech company that modernizes the traditional equb system — a community-based rotating savings model deeply rooted in Ethiopian culture. Through its digital platform, the company allows equbtegnas to join or create equbs, make secure mobile payments, and receive their payouts automatically, removing the need for physical meetings and cash handling.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. You will be responsible for maintaining financial records, initiating payments, and ensuring that our digital ledger matches our bank records perfectly.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Basic proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, or similar accounting software.
Proven ability to learn new software quickly; you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
High ethical standards for handling sensitive financial data and large-scale payments.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in prepare and initiate daily disbursements via digital banking platforms.
Perform reconciliations between the system, payment gateways, and bank statements.
Regularly update and maintain financial data within our proprietary system
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including journal entries and accruals.
Use Excel functions to organize large datasets, identify discrepancies, and generate weekly financial reports.
Support the preparation of tax declarations and statutory payments (VAT, Withholding, etc.).Record daily financial transactions and ensure proper documentation.
Track accounts receivable and accounts payable activities.
