Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, invites qualified candidates and consultants to apply for the following opportunities in Ethiopia.

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), an international non-governmental organization (NGO), has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997. DRC promotes and supports solutions to the problems faced by refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), and migrants.

Position 1: Finance Assistant

Educational Qualification

  • BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or another directly related field from a recognized university or higher education institution.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
  • Previous experience with an NGO or humanitarian organization is an advantage.
  • Experience in bookkeeping, cash management, payment processing, and ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong financial, analytical, numerical, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent English speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Position 2: Protection Assistant – Monitoring

Educational Qualification

  • University Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences, Law, Social Work, International Development, or another relevant field from a recognized institution.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in humanitarian response and refugee/IDP protection.
  • Experience with an international NGO, UN agency, relevant ministry, or local authority is an advantage.
  • Experience conducting protection monitoring or assessments using tools such as Kobo and ActivityInfo.
  • Experience working with displaced or conflict-affected populations.

Required Skills

  • Strong data collection, analysis, reporting, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Kobo and other data collection or analysis tools is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
  • Excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills in English, Amharic, and Tigrigna.
