The communication intern will support the project’s communication, documentation, and networking activities by creating social media content and print materials that highlight key messages, achievements, and lessons learned related to adolescent sexual and reproductive health, nutrition, and gender-based violence. She will assist in producing learning products, developing radio/TV communication plans, and ensuring alignment with CARE and GAC branding guidelines.

Educational qualification

Required

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Graphic designing, or a related field. – Graphic Design: Basic skills in Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or similar tools. – Social media: Familiarity with platforms like Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and content scheduling tools. – Photography & Video: Basic photo/video editing (e.g., using CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush). – Digital Organization: Ability to manage shared folders (e.g., OneDrive, Google Drive) and file naming conventions.

Desired

  • A Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Graphic designing, or a related field

The intern will collaborate closely with project teams, government offices, local NGOs, and media outlets to strengthen networks, enhance visibility, and ensure consistent communication across platforms. Additionally, she will collect rolling profiles, stories and visuals from the field, document milestones and best practices, maintain communication material repositories, and support the dissemination of knowledge products through various digital and print channels.

Language skill :-

Required language/s: English and Amharic -High Proficiency is required in Verbal, Writing, Reading and Listening Skills.

Computer skill:-

High Proficiency is required in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint.

Relevant skill

  • Graphic Design: Basic skills in Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or similar tools.
  • Social Media: Familiarity with platforms like Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and content scheduling tools.

Contractual Terms and Conditions

  • Any offer made to the candidate in relation to this vacancy notice is subject to funding confirmation.
  • Duration of the internship: 1 year on a contract employment basis.
  • Financial Support: CARE Ethiopia provides a fixed stipend as per the organizations’ policy for interns.
