BCaD Consulting Management was established in 1998 as a sole Proprietorship business organization under the commercial law of Ethiopia and got incorporated as PLC in 2011. Our company is proficient in undertaking consultancy and training activities in the area of business management and development services in Ethiopia.

BCaD carries out a wide range of business support activities through high caliber multidisciplinary professionals in various fields. We use both custom made models as well as internationally anchored ones for facilitating enterprise competitiveness.

Position: Video Remote Interpreters (VRI)

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • University graduates (preferably with medical and law-related qualifications)
  • Proficient in one or more of the above-needed languages,
  • Proficient, accent-neutral, near-native English,
  • Work experience in a customer service environment is advantageous.
  • Good attendance record,
  • Ability to sit for long hours with little breaks in between,
  • Prior interpretation experience is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge and use of PC systems/CRM and Google Search is a must.

Preferred Skills:

  • Superior oral and written communication skills,
  • Computer literacy with the ability to type a minimum of 20 WPM,
  • Competency in a service organization environment,
  • Ability to work independently,
  • Self-motivated, willing to constantly improve,
  • Attention to detail and be able to multi-task and prioritize work daily,
  • The ability to focus on a fast-paced environment while handling calls with a courteous, friendly, and well-spoken tone,
  • Strong people skills and ability to communicate orally and in written form.

Special requirements for those wanting to operate from home:

  • HIPAA-compliant spaces must be private and secure. No one can be in the room with the agent, and nobody else should be able to overhear/see information from surrounding areas. The only exception to this will be for agents in a HIPAA-compliant call center.
  • No one should see or listen to agents’ calls, nor be in the room while agents are active on the platform.
  • Agents must connect their computers to a high-speed, private, and secure internet connection.
  • Agents’ workspace must be a dedicated room to work. This means the surrounding environment cannot be distracting, avoid working from spaces with background noise/distractions such as pets or children, and soundproof your space to avoid background noise on calls.
  • Windows 10 or newer, Apple or Linux OS
  • 8 GB RAM
  • Intel Core i7 or equivalent processor
  • USB video camera with integrated H.264 hardware encoder to the USB Video Class (UVC) or built-in video camera with 720p or higher resolution (video agents).
  • Graphics card must support DirectX 9.0 and must expose DXVA2_ModeH264_VLD_NoFgt decoding mode, latest graphics driver must be installed, and 4-core video encode score of 7.3 or higher.
  • Reliable electricity.
  • Personal quiet room for avoiding disturbing noises and interferences.

Personality and character requirements

  • A strict dress code to be disclosed to those who will be selected
  • High level of personal hygiene
  • Willingness to work during Ethiopian holidays, as the candidates will only rest on holidays recognized in the USA.

Required languages: Applicants are expected to be proficient in speaking Tigrigna or Oromifa in addition to Amharic and English

Weekly workload: at least 40 hours from late afternoon to or beyond midnight to align with the Pacific Standard Time day shift. Flexibility required to work 40 hours any time, 24/7, including during Holidays.

Salary: Birr 312.50 per hour with an additional ETB 14,000.00 monthly bonus for those who meet 96% adherence of total work hours within that month.
