The Hunger Project (THP) is a global, non-profit, strategic organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger. The Hunger Project-E is implementing projects in rural areas of Ethiopia since 2004 and currently seeking qualified candidates for an internship positions:
Position 1: Finance Intern
CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting or Accounting & Finance.
- Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, integrity, and a high level of accuracy.
- A letter of recommendation from a university attesting to the candidate’s personal integrity, reliability, and sense of responsibility.
Internship Title Finance Intern (Female only)
Length of Internship 6 Months
Intern Worksite: Addis Ababa
Position 2: MEL Database Intern (Female only)
CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in MEAL, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or Data Science.
- Demonstrated understanding of data management and field research.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, integrity, and a high level of accuracy.
- A letter of recommendation from a university attesting to the candidate’s personal integrity, reliability, and sense of responsibility.
Length of Internship 6 Months
Intern Worksite Addis Ababa
Position 3: Project Accountant
Education:
- Minimum of first university degree in Accounting or Accounting and Finance.
Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in a similar or related position. Work experience in INGO/NGO setting is a
Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and standards.
- Experience in grant and donor fund management.
- Ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance staff.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English language – both spoken and written.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, & PowerPoint.
- Commitment to organizational values and mission.
Term of Employment: One year, with a possibility of extension
Duty Station: Butajira
