Habesha Cement S.C invites interested and qualified applicants for the following job positions.

Position 1: Cashier Accountant

Qualification and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Accounting, Auditing and Finance and Business Administration or related fields with five (5) years of direct related experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee cash transactions, cash reconciliations, account payments, account receivables and other accounting duties according to company policies.
  • Maintain a daily cashier reconciliation recap; reports any discrepancies to management.
  • Post payments to the appropriate account and makes notes required for follow-up.
  • Posts zero payments to the appropriate account and makes notes required for follow-up
  • Maintain log of daily receipts and contractual posted.
  • Oversee daily bank deposits and ensure they are timely.
  • Maintain petty cash drawer, log, receipts and balances daily.
  • Ensure customer transactions are processed promptly and accurately.
  • Coordinate with the Transaction Processing Manager in daily and monthly balancing of accounts receivable to the general ledger.
  • Maintain established departmental and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Train newly hired cashiers on accounting procedures and company policies.
  • Evaluate performance of cash associates and provide feedback.
  • Identify and communicate any accounting related issues to the relevant body promptly.

Location: Addis Ababa

Position 2: Senior Accountant

Qualification and Experience: BA Degree in Accounting and finance or related fieldsProven 5+ years of experience in the sector

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Checking Monthly Reconciliation.
  • Check and follow up balances for each account.
  • Assist financial manager with managerial cash flow (payments, collecting, credit notes, etc.…).
  • Visit the bank to execute payment, check the balances and collect bank statement.
  • Check petty cash replenishment, check payments, bank transfers, and security bonds.
  • Organize monthly VAT, WHT, pension, and income tax declaration in one window system (online).
  • Assist finance manager in updating monthly and yearly reports about costs (fixed variable transport energy and service), sales and stock report.
  • Doing tax clearance vat refund with revenue minister.
  • Follow up and give on job training for junior accountants.

Location: Addis Ababa

Position 3: Manager, Internal Audit

Qualification and Experience: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Banking and Finance or related fields with six (6) years of demonstrated experience out of which three (3) years in a managerial position

Or

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Banking and Finance or related fields with eight (8) years of demonstrated experience of which four (4) years in a managerial position.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Design and update Audit Policy and ensure implementation.
  • Oversee the conduct of internal transactional audit and quality control in adherence with defined standards.
  • Ensures that comments of external auditors are addressed by concerned departments and service units Plan reviews/audits informed by risk assessment.
  • Ensure the performance of audit procedures to verify that controls are operating through testing and interviewing techniques.
  • Inspect transactions and related documents and verify accuracy and legitimacy.
  • Perform analysis and conclude on effectiveness and efficiency of control system.
  • Identify control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee the documentation of results of audit work in accordance with applicable audit standards.
  • Prepare and present timely audit reports for relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide advice on internal control and participate in enhancing internal audit standards and practices.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and quality of internal controls (systems, practice, processes) and recommend improvements.
  • Provide direction to investigate and resolve any identified issues.
  • Follow up and ensure the implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Check the periodic reports on rectification status of audit findings.
  • Ensure that causes of recurring irregularities have been identified and assist in provision of appropriate remedial actions by carrying out analysis of findings.
  • Oversee the preparation of periodic summary reports.

Generic Duties of the Position:

  • Develop and implement the Division’s plans and objectives.
  • Develop, approve and monitor the Division’s budgets.
  • Identify human resources requirements of the Division and develop plan for meeting the requirements.
  • Develop, implement and review relevant divisional policies and procedures.
  • Review, approve and submit Divisional reports to relevant organs.
  • Support the development of subordinates through periodic performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, ongoing performance dialogue and feedback.
  • Manage disciplinary concerns of the Division’s staff.
  • Represent the Division in internal and external relationships.
  • Participate in group decision making process by forming part of different groups/committees.
