The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German implementing organization that provides services worldwide in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. We work to shape a future worth living in over 120 countries around the world.
Sustainable Economic Growth is one if the five key sectors that drives economic resilience, innovation, and employment opportunities to ensure long-term prosperity for African societies, and regional economic integration. The sector has seven projects under it which have a combined volume of EUR 140.2 million and is co-funded by the European Union and the German.
Position: Project Management Intern
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognised higher education institution
- Excellent written and spoken skills in English and Amharic.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in project management, event coordination, communications, and development projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning.
- Creative mindset with the ability to contribute to communication materials, social media content, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, reliability, and commitment to organizational values.
- Demonstrated self-awareness, empathy, conflict sensitivity, and a non-judgmental attitude.
- Strong gender awareness and intercultural competence, with the ability to work respectfully with diverse stakeholders.
- Previous internship, volunteer, or work experience in project management, event coordination, administration, or with an international organisation is an advantage
