Ethiopost is Ethiopia’s principal postal service provider, with over 600 branches across the country. Ethiopost’s new vision is to be a global leader in postal services and a preferred partner in logistics, financial and government services.
Ethiopost is a state-owned enterprise (SOE) tasked with the establishment and expansion of postal services in the country. It is the designated postal operator (DPO) that provides postal services throughout the Ethiopian territory in order to fulfill the government’s universal service obligation (USO).
The postal sector has been impacted by many disruptions resulting from digitization and more recently the COVID-19 pandemic. DPOs have hence adopted their operations to these changes and persisted in the face of challenges. Similar to trends in the industry elsewhere, Ethiopian Post has been expanding into new businesses including financial services, transportation, and retail in addition to its core business of delivering letters and parcels.
Position 1: Chief Commercial Officer
Education:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Economics and related fields.
Experience:
- Minimum of six years of related experience with a master’s degree and eight years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in senior leadership roles.
Technical skills:
- Established commercial background; Proven ability to plan, implement and analyze performance results against objectives and KPIs; Significant senior management and leadership experience; Demonstrable experience of managing operational performance within financial budgets
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, coordinate, supervise the work of the department, and ensures that it is carried out with quality and efficiency;
- Advise and strategize on the design and implementation of sales and marketing activities for improving existing services and expanding into new services;
- Conduct market research and feasibility studies; set plans and KPIs; monitor performance;
- Set and adjust the business strategy based on market analysis;
- Develop and implement the sales strategy; enhance the company’s products and services;
- Oversee product managers to ensure effective implementation of product planning, delivery and marketing of each product throughout the product lifecycle;
- Closely follow up key corporate customers, serve as their primary contact and maintain open lines of communication; monitor overall customer relationship management;
- Drive overall revenue targets; set KPIs for all service points; monitor and evaluate performance; generate new sales leads through a multichannel approach;
- Oversee district and local sales managers and staff, offering performance feedback.
- Maximize profitability by capitalizing on revenue opportunities with well-coordinated sales programs; evaluate data analysis to identify the potential for optimizing resources and new revenue streams;
- Expand franchise network; set KPIs and provide oversight to expand opportunities;
- Coordinate the formulation and implementation of a communications strategy; oversee the development and maintenance of corporate communications and branding in various platforms;
- Conduct and approve the company’s branding research, public relations, and business development and monitor its implementation;
- Promote the company’s services both domestically and internationally.
- Conduct regular training and coaching to help sales and marketing personnel build and develop strong skills;
- Prepare and present annual budget and work programs; ensure key resources are in place to implement set goals and targets;
Salary: 86,250ETB

Position 2: Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO)
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in management, Business Administration, or Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, and related field
Experience:
- Minimum of six years of related experience with a master’s degree and Eight years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in senior leadership roles.
Technical skills:
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, accepted professional standards, policies, and procedures of HR practices; Demonstrated knowledge of all key HR functions, including performance management, learning and development, reward and recognition, HR systems, and budgets; Proven leadership experience in managing departments and teams; Exceptional people skills and leadership qualities; Ability to use office software packages competently;
Responsibilities
- Strategize and advise on the development and implementation of effective employment policies across the company;
- Oversee the execution of the HR strategy including implementation of best practices in talent acquisition, employee relations, workforce administration, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, rewards and recognitions;
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, professional standards, manuals, SOPs, labor agreements, and all other relevant HR standards;
- Lead the transformation of the organizational culture and ensure company values are upheld and practiced; nurture a positive working environment;
- Lead the recruitment and selection, promotion process; develop efficient HR administration processes; ensure efficient and prompt response to employee inquiries and requests;
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues;
- Create a Succession Plan and implement it accordingly in line with business and departmental objectives;
- Ensure continuous improvement of employee compensation and benefits package through annual salary and benefits reviews;
- Provide critical business support for other departments to ensure the availability of skilled and qualified personnel;
- Develop and implement a robust performance management system; oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance;
- Lead the establishment of a training institute for staff;
- Oversee the health and daycare facilities for staff;
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and support to the HR team to enhance their skills and capabilities;

Position 3: Customer Service Director
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, marketing, management, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of four years of related experience with a master’s degree and six years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in senior leadership roles.
Technical skills:
- Strong customer focus; Proven working experience as a Customer Service Manager; Deep understanding of customer service, customer experience, customer success, and customer operations; Experience in providing customer service support; Working knowledge of customer service software, databases, and tools; Ability to think strategically and to lead; Strong client-facing and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement customer service policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with company goals and priorities;
- Serve as the voice of the customer and lead the effort to include in all aspects of the business;
- Develop methods for gathering customer feedback and insights including voice-of-the-customer programs;
- Ensure thorough analytics and reporting to resolve customer concerns and respond to their wishes and needs;
- Identify, document and share customer stories to enhance customer-centric culture;
- Assist all customer-facing departments; work closely with the Commercial team to collaborate on expansion, upselling and cross-selling opportunities;
- Follow through on customer inquiries and ensure prompt resolution;
- Oversee all activities of the Contact Center to ensure all customer inquiries are handled properly; handle escalated cases;
- Direct the activities of Customer Care and supervise timely response to complaints;
- Develop and implement customer compensation policies and procedures; ensure timely revisions;
- Provide coaching, mentorship and support to customer service team to enhance their skills and capabilities;
