Position 1: HR Intern

(FEMALE ONLY INTERNSHIP PROGRAM)

Job Requirement

  • Degree in Management, Business Administration, Human Resources Management
  • 1 year of related experience.
  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to act in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Good skills in computer applications.

The purpose of the HR – Intern position is to provide a wide variety of support to the Human Resources (HR) function. S/he is required to keep complete, comprehensive and up-to-date records of personnel matters of CARE Ethiopia Country Office staff. The Intern supports the daily HR and administrative operations of the human resource department and interacts with employees, management and other business associates (e.g.; insurance companies and banks).

Position 2: Engineering Intern

Educational background: BSC degree in Engineering (Construction, hydraulic, etc.) and other related field with zero-year experience

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Computer skill on Microsoft word and excel.
  • Knowledge of Oromiffa language is advantageous.
  • The intern is expected to make frequent travel to the project areas both in Adama town and Adama woreda

The intern will fully engage in supporting the Construction, rehabilitation, supervision, quality assurance and maintaining standards during the implementation of the school sanitary infrastructure work.  In addition, the intern is expected to be supporting in pillar 1 and 2 activities as instructed by the supervisor. The intern mainly will have the following roles:

  • Participate in facilitating the sanitary infrastructure construction work
  • Participate in regularly supervising the progress of the sanitary infrastructure construction work
  • Support in mobilizing community participation during the construction of the sanitary infrastructure construction work
  • Support in making sure the work of the contractor is handled according to the agreed standard, quality, and cost-effective manner.
  • Participate during trainings that is going to be provided to the school community to ensure proper operation, maintenance, and sustainability of the sanitary infrastructures
  • Handle other activities as assigned by the supervisor

Location: Adama, Oromia

Position 3: Public Health Intern

Educational background: BSC degree in public health, Environmental health and other related field with zero-year experience.

The intern will fully engage on school level promotion and facilitation works and other works given by her supervisor. The intern mainly will have the following roles:

  • Participate on the timely distribution and proper utilization of communication materials to targeted schools, and other outreach groups such as HDAs, HEWs, religious leaders and influential people.
  • Play a key role in mobilizing target groups for MHH good practice and product demand creation.
  • Participate on the project capacity building trainings to school club facilitators and support the development of school WaSH+MHH plan.
  • Conduct regular supportive supervision on MHH promotion at different entry points like school, health facility, university and the like.

Desired Technical Skills

  • Computer skill on Microsoft word and excel
  • Knowledge of local language
  • The intern is expected to make frequent travel to the project implementation sites both in Adama town and Adama woreda

Position 4: MIS Intern

Educational background: BA/BSC in Management Information System (MIS), Information Technology (IT), Data Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management, Statistics, Mathematics, communication, and related field.

The intern will fully engage on community level promotion and facilitation works and other works given by her supervisor. The intern mainly will have the following roles:

  • Mass and targeted awareness raising target groups
  • Engaging and working with influential people, religious leaders, health extension workers, health development armies, and community based organizations
  • Target women and girls in small groups for awareness raising and conduct close follow-up through a set of entry points (i.e., schools, universities, factories and Village Saving and Loan Associations (VSLAs)),
  • Participate on the timely distribution and proper utilization of communication materials to targeted School girls, VSLA groups, women factory employees and other outreach groups such as HDAs, HEWs, religious leaders and influential people.
  • Actively participate on mobilizing target groups for MHH good practice and product demand creation.
  • Generate data needed for the project periodical reports.
  • Handle other activities as assigned by the supervisor.

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Excellent computer proficiency (i.e., Ms. Word, Excel, Access)
  • Research and data management skills
  • The intern is expected to make frequent travel to the project implementation sites both in Adama town and Adama woreda
  • Knowledge of local language
