The GEOHealth Hubis a research and training platform centered at Addis Ababa University, College of Health Sciences, School of Public Health that was established with grant support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) of the United States of America in School of Public Health, Addis Ababa University, College of Health Sciences. The project focuses on air pollution and health, occupational safety and health, climate change, and Health research.
The School of Public Health at Addis Ababa University College of Health Sciences wants to hire, on a contract basis, a professional in the following job position for GEOHealth project.
This is an external vacancy announcement from Global Environmental and Occupational Health (GEOHealth) Hub for Research and Training in Eastern Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda).
Position 1: Data Clerk
Qualification & required skills:
- BSc/ Diploma in statistics, demography, accounting or Business Administration or related field
- Skill in electronic data management (ODK or similar tool) (Preferred)
- Managing Microsoft Office tools such as word and excel
- At least 2 years of experience in the areas of data entry and management
Position 2: Field Researcher
Qualification & required skills
- BSc in Environmental Health or related Health Science fields is preferred
- BSC with at least two years of field research experience (desirable)
- MPH with at least one year of field research experience
- Experience with environmental health research
- Experience with hospital data collection and household air pollution training and monitoring
- Excellent communication skills in the medium of English
- Computer skills required
- Skills in statistical software

Posiiton 3: Research Administrator
Qualification & required skills:
- Master in public health/Environmental Health/Environmental Science or Master of Science in a health-related discipline
- Demonstrated ability in research execution using various approaches such as health facility, school, and community-based surveys.
- Experience managing and monitoring research activities, particularly research related to environmental and occupational health, is preferred.
- Well-oriented toward the health system of Ethiopia, particularly the hospital’s Health Management Information system (HMIS).
- Experience in indoor Air Pollution and ambient air pollution research is desirable.
- Experience in handling Monitoring equipment for household air pollution assessment
- Excellent communication, computer skills, and fluency in English
Position 4: Data Manager/Analyst
Qualification & required skills
- Masters in Biostatistics/Statistics/Computer/Information science/Public health/Health informatics/ or Master of Science in health-related disciplines,
- Demonstrated ability in data management and analysis execution using various data sources such as health facility, school, and community-based surveys.
- Experience in tool development using ODK, Survey CTO,
- Well-oriented towards the health system of Ethiopia, particularly hospitals’ Health Management Information system (DHIS-2) and WHO ICD 10.
- Experience and strong proficiency in data management and analysis software, including SPSS, Stata, and R,
- Excellent communication, computer skills, and fluency in English
- Experience in data analysis of multi-site data and expertise in major data analysis software,
- Extensive experience with multi-country and multi-site research projects, experience with various types of quantitative analysis,
- Health research experience,
